Our school program in Turkey continues to flourish with your kind support. At the present time 148 students are attending classes, learning English, Turkish, and computer skills in order to move on to local community college classes or to continue with educational programs in their grade levels at our school. Uniforms, books, educational materials, and transportation are provided for all students.
Our goal for “Adopt a family”, a Children’s Hope sponsored program, is to empower underprivileged Orange County families and their dependent children by assisting them in achieving independence, creating connections for training and job search opportunities, and expanding student sponsorship through a variety of activities.
After the earthquake, Children’s Hope applied for and obtained a license from the US Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) to transfer $250,000 to Iran for humanitarian aid for victims of the earthquake. Children’s Hope decided to transfer funds to Anjoman Nikoukary Omid Kamal to implement the humanitarian projects in East Azarbayejan because of the extensive experience of Omid Kamal in disaster relief and its successful programs to help those in need in Iran.
